When you get into trading Forex, it’s really hard not to imagine what your future will look like as a professional long-term trader. But it is possible to trade Forex for long-term and make a lot of money when you're taking your education and journey seriously.
You can build a long-term trading career by making sure you follow a few simple things when you’re in the market as a Forex trader, and you can start by not ever procrastinating when it comes to your FX career. You can get further in your career by practicing, practicing, and practicing. You can continue to learn all you can about trading throughout your entire journey to make sure you stay up to date in the industry. Finding a good broker will help you advance in your journey and you want to make sure they have your back in supporting all your goals towards your Forex career.
You want to make sure you do your research when it comes to your broker. Investing only what you can bear is going to make sure you don’t get yourself under before you really get going. Start with a single currency pair when you first start trading and once you get comfortable, you can play around with other currency pairs if you choose. My last tip to furthering your career is to make sure you keep a trading journal you can review every single day, and keep a record of your daily trades.
There's a quote I came across recently and when I did, I immediately related it to trading. “There is no talent here. This is just hard work. This is an obsession. Talent does not exist, we are all equals as human beings. You could be anyone if you put in the time, you will reach the top, and that’s that. I am not talented, I am just obsessed.” - Connor McGregor
When you think of traders as battling everyone else everyday in their environment (the market), we are very competitive with the hopes of coming out on top. And we relate by realizing we are our own biggest stumbling blocks in overcoming a challenge. Mental and emotional toughness is everything when it comes to trading. Trading is an obsession and you need to be fully invested in the lifestyle if you have any chance at making it work and succeeding in the Forex market. If there's anything to take away from this it is that anyone can make a lifestyle out of trading by working hard, not giving up on your goals, keep improving, keep practicing and put in the time. Shawn Lucas and his motto for trading is very similar to everything I covered in this article. Shawn Lucas has been trading for most of his adult life, and spend his time teaching other people how to trade and become profitable in their journey. That’s why I feel so blessed as a trader to be learning from Shawn because he has been doing this for so long and has so much to share with others that are wanting and willing to learn.
