Placing Your First Trade: What To Expect

Trading can come off as overwhelming and confusing your first time entering into the market. If you are able to keep your mind collected and stay focused, you will survive your first time trading! When entering the market for the first time, I suggest absorbing as much as you can. It can come as a bit of a shock when you first see what your “platform” will look like. Something I can suggest is to have a trade journal and pen handy! You need to write everything down.

Being able to approach your daily trading as a business plan, such as constant monitoring, following through with your checklist of to-do’s, and critiquing things along the way is a great approach to your trading mindset. Remember, you don’t want to overcomplicate things, because as soon as you complicate your strategy, the more likely it will be harder to follow and less likely it will be effective. However, keeping it simple can be challenging especially because when going through the educational part of your trading journey, there are so many tools thrown at you screaming “success, success, success!” It's important to realize it's not about the amount of tools you have at your disposal, but rather how effectively you are able to use just a few of them at a time.

Something I have spoken about before in previous articles, is being able to watch some Apiary Fund and Trader on the Street videos because it is an authentic part of someone's journey and what they experience when they see the market for the first time.

Apiary Fund and Trader on the Street give you an excellent idea of what to expect their first time trading. As long as you embody a certain confidence and calm demeanor, you will be fine. Trading can be easy to get down on yourself and your skills when you make a mistake, but if you have a good trading education to stand on, and you remain driven and have grit to accomplish your trading goals, you will make it and be profitable. I hope this helped prepare you for what you will see your first time trading, and has given you enough curiosity to go for it!
